/reload
Reloads all data packs, advancements, functions, loot tables, predicates, recipes, and tags from disk.
Overview
Reloads all data packs, advancements, functions, loot tables, predicates, recipes, and tags from disk. In vanilla Minecraft Java Edition it is one of the server commands and has been available since version 1.0.
/reload takes no arguments at all — you type it exactly as shown and it acts on the current context immediately.
This command reloads advancements, functions, loot tables, predicates, recipes, tags, and other data pack contents. It does NOT reload server.properties or world settings.
It reloads data-pack contents — advancements, functions, loot tables, predicates, recipes and tags — but not server.properties or world settings, which need a restart.
Any scheduled functions queued with /schedule are cleared by a reload, so long-running data-pack timers must re-arm themselves from a load function.
If a data pack contains a syntax error the reload reports it in the console and keeps the previous working state for that pack rather than crashing the server.
Datapack changes only take effect after the reload finishes; editing files on disk alone does nothing until /reload (or a restart) re-reads them.
