Overview

Modifies a scoreboard objective of type 'trigger'. This command can be used by non-operator players, making it useful for custom maps and voting systems. In vanilla Minecraft Java Edition it is one of the player commands and has been available since version 1.8.

It is invoked as /trigger [add|set ] and accepts one required argument () and 2 optional arguments ([action] and [value]).

Permission level 0 means all players can use this command. The trigger must be enabled for each player using /scoreboard players enable. After triggering, it is automatically disabled until re-enabled.

Because its permission level is 0, ordinary players can run it — but only after an operator enables the objective for them with /scoreboard players enable, and it disables again after each use.

Syntax & Arguments

/trigger <objective> [add|set <value>]

The full syntax is /trigger [add|set ]. Angle brackets < > mark required arguments and square brackets [ ] mark optional ones; a vertical bar | between words means you pick exactly one of those literals. You must always supply . The arguments [action] and [value] may be omitted, in which case the documented default applies.
